About

British star Scott Redding makes a return to Ducati machinery for 2025 after spending three seasons on BMW bikes. His first two seasons in WorldSBK came on the Panigale V4 R and he took 12 wins and 37 podiums for the factory Ducati team, before leaving for BMW for the 2022 season. Remaining with the same team as last year, as they switch to the Italian brand, will Redding be back at the sharp end in 2025?

Ducati (2025-)

Redding returns to Ducati machinery for the 2025 WorldSBK season although sticks with Michael Galinski’s team for their change of manufacturer. A title contender in his first two seasons in WorldSBK, on the Italian brand’s bike, Redding will be hoping he can rekindle that success once again.

BMW (2022-2024)

Redding made a high-profile, and somewhat surprise, move to the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team for the 2022 season after two successful campaigns with Ducati. His first year on the M 1000 RR yielded three rostrums, at Donington, Most and Magny-Cours, but it wasn’t the success he was used to – and they remained his only podiums for the German manufacturer, although he did come close on several other occasions. With Toprak Razgatlioglu's arrival in 2024, Redding moved to the Bonovo Action BMW squad as they took on factory status although rostrums once again remained elusive.

Ducati (2020-2021)

After claiming the British Superbike title in 2019 on Ducati machinery, Redding secured a move to WorldSBK with the Italian brand and straight into the factory team. He took five wins in the shortened 2020 campaign and 14 podiums, taking the title fight with Jonathan Rea down to the final round at Estoril but ultimately coming up short. He slipped to third in 2021 as Razgatlioglu’s emergence on the Yamaha added more competition at the front, but he still ended the year with seven wins and 23 podiums.

Before WorldSBK

Redding made history in the 125cc World Championship when he became, at the time, the youngest ever Grand Prix winner at Donington Park. It was his only win but, as a teenager, he’d shown enough to move into the Moto2™ World Championship for four seasons. He took three wins in his time there and was a Championship runner-up in 2013 behind Pol Espargaro, finishing 40 points behind the Spaniard after a run of bad luck towards the end of the season ended his title hopes. Nevertheless, he'd shown enough and soon found himself in MotoGP™ with the Gresini Honda squad in 2014, before moving to Marc VDS’ MotoGP™ team in 2015. A move to Pramac Ducati followed for two seasons before his final MotoGP™ campaign reunited him with Gresini, this time on Aprilia machinery. In total, he took two podiums in the premier class, before moving to British Superbike with Ducati in 2019. 11 wins and 20 podiums helped him to the title before he made the move to WorldSBK.
